Among our most significant inspirations are the works from the Renaissance, the era of humanists, and visionary thinkers who explored the boundaries between art and science and expressed them in exquisite clocks, automata, musical instruments, paintings, and fine jewelry.
Making Marvels features more than 170 art pieces accumulated by influential royal families across Europe over the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. It is the first exhibition in North America to highlight the important connection of art, science, and technology with entertainment and spectacle that was an essential part of court culture. |
